January & February (Peak Summer)
The warmest months on the coast. Temperatures reach 25–30°C, skies are clear, and fog is minimal. Perfect for dolphin cruises, skydiving, and scenic flights. This is peak tourist season, so book ahead.
March & April (Autumn)
The heat eases slightly but conditions remain excellent. Crowds thin out after the Namibian school holidays. Great for Sandwich Harbour tours as the light is beautiful for photography. Water temperatures are at their warmest for marine activities.
May & June (Early Winter)
Mornings can be foggy and cool (10–15°C), but fog usually lifts by mid-morning. The upside? Fewer tourists and lower prices. Dune biking is great in cooler weather — less heat exhaustion. Dolphins and seals are present year-round, so cruises still run daily.
July & August (Winter)
The coolest months. Daytime temperatures hover around 15–18°C. Morning fog is common but creates an atmospheric, moody coastline — photographers love it. The Living Desert tour is actually better in cooler months as the nocturnal creatures are more active. Skydiving still operates but may have more weather delays.
September & October (Spring)
The coast warms up quickly. Spring is excellent for all activities. Wildlife is especially active — seal pups are born at Pelican Point (a highlight for dolphin cruise visitors), and the desert starts blooming in places. This is arguably the best all-round time to visit.
November & December (Early Summer)
Warm and sunny with long days — ideal for fitting in multiple activities. The Namibian holiday season starts in mid-December, bringing more domestic tourists. Book skydiving and scenic flights early as slots fill up.
